Health Security: UV Sterilization for Overwhelmed Orphanage

Pillar: Relief & Community | Focus: Vulnerable Populations | Asset: 12 UV Air Filters

The war has displaced everyone, including the youngest and most vulnerable among us. Orphanages in Western Ukraine are currently facing a surge in occupancy as children are relocated from active conflict zones or find themselves orphaned by the violence.

When a facility designed for 50 children suddenly houses 100, the risk of airborne disease increases exponentially.

To combat this, we delivered 12 UV Room Sterilizing Air Filters to a specialized orphanage in Chernivtsi caring for children under the age of 6.

Preventative Care This request came directly from the facility director, who needed a way to ensure safety amidst overcrowding.

  • The Tech: These UV filters continuously scrub the air of bacteria and viruses.

  • The Application: They will be deployed in the nurseries and baby rooms, ensuring that the air these infants breathe is sterilized and safe.

By installing these units, we are helping the staff manage the influx of new arrivals without compromising the health of the children already in their care.
