Digital Lifelines: Securing Education for Children in the South

Project: Education & Technology | Region: Odessa & Mykolaiv | Beneficiaries: 25+ Children

In Southern Ukraine, particularly in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions, the security situation remains volatile. Frequent shelling and infrastructure damage have made physical schooling dangerous or impossible, forcing education to move entirely online. For vulnerable children without personal devices, this often means dropping out of the school system entirely.

To bridge this digital divide, we executed a targeted delivery of tablets to two critical institutions.

Restoring Access to Learning In partnership with The World Orphan Fund, we deployed hardware to ensuring continuity of education for children in state care.

  • Odessa Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation: We delivered four units to this facility, which supports 25 underprivileged children. These devices act as communal learning hubs, allowing children to rotate through remote lessons and maintain contact with the outside world.

  • Mykolaiv Family-Type Homes: We deployed six units to the Bashtansky district, specifically targeting "family-type" orphanages (foster homes). In these rural, high-risk areas, a tablet is the only link between a child and their teachers.

More Than Hardware These devices are not toys; they are essential infrastructure. By securing access to remote learning, we provide these children with a routine, a social connection, and a future beyond the immediate conflict.
