Mobilizing 132 Metric Tons of Food Boxes: Assembly Phase

Pillar: Relief & Community Recovery | Mission Volume: 132 Metric Tons | Context: Frontline IDP Support

Relief & Community Recovery We are currently in the execution phase of a massive logistical mobilization: the purchasing, assembly, and staging of 10,000 food boxes.

This operation is designed to inject 132 metric tons of nutritional support directly into areas where supply chains have fractured. Funded by Diamondback Energy and The World Orphan Fund, and executed in partnership with VPO Ukraine, this initiative is not just about sending food; it is about sustaining life in the most logistically difficult regions of the country.

Engineered for Survival We do not build these boxes at random. Each unit is a calculated survival kit weighing 13.2kg and containing approximately 40,399 calories.

The logistical target for each box is a small family of 2-4 people living in areas where regular access to markets is dangerous or impossible. The contents are engineered to provide a caloric baseline for weeks, including core staples like flour, rolled oats, buckwheat, and pasta, alongside shelf-stable proteins like canned meats and fish that require no refrigeration.

The Dignity of Ground Coffee Survival is not merely physical; it is psychological. While calories keep the body functioning, dignity keeps the spirit alive.

Inside every box, alongside the essential grains and fats, is a package of high-quality ground coffee. This is the single most expensive item in the kit. From a purely caloric standpoint, it is unnecessary. From a human standpoint, it is vital.

We consciously chose real ground coffee over cheaper instant alternatives. In a life stripped of normalcy, the ritual of brewing a proper cup of coffee is a restoration of dignity. It is a rare luxury that signals to these families that they are not just being kept alive—they are being valued.

Deployment Zones Once assembly is complete, these assets will be deployed to support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across several key Oblasts:

  • Kharkiv

  • Donetsk

  • Kherson

  • Sumy

  • Zaporizhzhia

These distributions are targeted specifically at "last-mile" communities—areas near the contact line where logistics are difficult and the need is acute. With the assembly lines moving fast, we are preparing to move these assets from the warehouse to the families who need them most.
