Rapid Response: Aerial Reconnaissance for Frontline Teams
Pillar: Defence | Asset: DJI Mavic 3 | Context: Chernivtsi Volunteer Event
Speed is critical in logistics. Usually, the cycle of aid involves identifying a need, organizing a fundraiser, collecting the cash, and finally procuring the item. But sometimes, we have the opportunity to short-circuit that process to help teams operate safely in the grey zone.
During a recent visit to Chernivtsi by Serhiy Prytula—founder of one of Ukraine's largest logistics foundations—we connected with the local event organizers.
Closing the Gap The organizers were hosting the event to crowd-fund a DJI Mavic 3 for a frontline team. These drones are essential for operational safety, allowing crews to scout routes, assess infrastructure damage, and locate evacuation targets without entering high-risk areas blindly.
Instead of waiting for the fundraising goal to be met, we decided to intervene immediately. We handed over a brand new Mavic 3 to the event organizers on the spot.
Immediate Impact By donating the asset instantly, we effectively "completed" the fundraiser before it finished. This allowed the organizers to dispatch the drone to the teams that needed it without delay, while freeing up the funds raised that evening for other critical supplies.
