First Eyes in the Sky: Our Initial Drone Deployment

Pillar: Defence | Assets: 6 UAVs | Source: Romania

Every major fleet starts with a single airframe. Before we were delivering thermal surveillance packages and heavy-lift units, we started with what was available on the shelves.

Our very first defense delivery consisted of 6 commercial drones sourced from Romania. While small, these units provided critical, immediate situational awareness to units that otherwise would have had none.

The Initial Fleet We cleared the local stock to get these assets into the hands of operators as fast as possible:

  • 5x DJI Mini 2: Ultra-light and quiet. Three of these units were the "Fly More" combo, equipping teams with the extra batteries needed for sustained operations.

  • 1x DJI Air 2S: A step up in optics and range, also delivered with the full "Fly More" battery kit.

Small but Significant In the early chaotic phase of the defense, a DJI Mini could still spot an ambush or check a treeline without risking a soldier's life. These six drones didn't win the war, but they likely saved the lives of the specific squads that received them.
