A New Horizon for Veteran Recovery
We are proud to announce a transformative partnership between Bird of Light Ukraine and BE KIND!, a local family foundation in Lviv. Together, we are undertaking a $2.5 million project to construct a specialized Veteran Physical Rehabilitation Hospital dedicated to healing those who have sacrificed everything for Ukraine.
The Urgency of Care The scale of injury in this war is devastating. With over 100,000 war-related amputations recorded and approximately 4,300 soldiers wounded every month, the existing healthcare system is pushed to the brink. These systemic bottlenecks often leave wounded veterans waiting too long for essential treatment.
A Sustainable Solution To bridge this gap, we are converting an existing structure into a 113-bed, 5-story physical rehabilitation hospital. Designed for resilience, this private facility operates with a public mission: to provide immediate, subsidized care to soldiers while generating revenue through partnerships and a dedicated nursing wing to ensure long-term financial stability.
Once fully operational in Q4 2026, the hospital will have the capacity to treat approximately 4,500 patients annually.
Our partners have already raised $750,000 toward the $2.5 million total goal. However, the approaching winter poses an immediate threat to our construction timeline.
We have launched an urgent appeal for $250,000 to complete the exterior insulation and finishes. Achieving this milestone will "winter-seal" the building, allowing interior work to continue through the cold months and keeping us on track to open our doors to veterans next year.
Join us in building this sanctuary for recovery.
