Culture as Armor: Restoring Spirits at Kupol Fest in the Carpathians

High in the Carpathian mountains, amidst the ancient pines of Putyla, a different kind of strength was forged this past weekend.

At Bird of Light Ukraine, we often speak of the "bridge"—the vital connection between Western resources and Ukrainian resilience. Usually, this bridge carries medical supplies or water infrastructure. But sometimes, the most critical resource we can transport is hope.

We were proud to stand as a lead sponsor for Kupol Fest, a cultural beacon with a singular, powerful mission: to raise funds for the Kupol Rehabilitation Center (@kupol.gutsula), a sanctuary dedicated to the recovery of Ukrainian soldiers and their families.

More Than a Festival

Kupol Fest was not merely an event; it was an act of unity. In the face of ongoing challenges, the people of the Carpathians chose to gather, sing, and create art to support those who defend our freedom.

We were struck by the profound authenticity of the location and the sincerity of the community. From the stirring performance of the Armed Forces Orchestra to the "Genome of the Nation" art project by Tetiana Kashkarova, every moment was designed to remind us what we are fighting for: our culture, our future, and each other.

We look for initiatives where a spark of support can ignite a fire of change. This event delivered exactly that.

  • Financial Impact: Together, the community raised 140,750 UAH directly for the rehabilitation center.

  • Social Impact: The event brought together local government, international partners (like the German-Ukrainian Forum), and local businesses to create a sustainable network of support for veterans.

  • Moral Impact: For the defenders present, it was a reminder that their sacrifice is honored not just with words, but with concrete action to ensure their future health and well-being.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the organizers who made this possible—Oleg Revega, Ilona Rotar, and the entire committee. You are the "Superhumans" who turn vision into reality.

We also stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our fellow partners who helped build this platform, including the German-Ukrainian Forum, the Lupashko Family, the DOBRE Program, and the Chernivtsi Regional Council.

Looking Forward

The Kupol Rehabilitation Center represents the next vital phase of Ukraine’s journey: Recovery. It is a place where defenders will find peace, where families will be reunited in spirit, and where physical and emotional strength will be restored.

Bird of Light Ukraine is honored to support this vision. We stand with those defending Ukraine’s independence—especially for the next generation.

For victory. For Ukraine. For the Light.
