Energy Security: Deploying 48 Generators & 25 Tons of Fuel
Project: Winterization & Shelter Support | Region: Dnipropetrovsk
As winter set in, the stability of the electrical grid became the primary threat to IDP survival. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, overcrowded shelters housing thousands of displaced families were facing critical blackouts, risking the loss of heat, light, and water pumps.
A shelter without power freezes in hours. We moved to secure the grid for the most vulnerable.
Industrial Power Deployment In a coordinated logistics operation with The World Orphan Fund and Diamondback Energy, we deployed a fleet of 48 high-capacity generators.
Scalable Power: The units ranged from 7kW residential units to massive 60kW industrial generators, matched specifically to the load requirements of each shelter.
Operational Continuity: We didn't just deliver the machines; we secured the supply chain. The deployment included 25,200 liters of fuel, ensuring these generators could run immediately and sustain operations during extended blackouts.
Stabilizing Life for 12,000 This infrastructure now forms the energy backbone for shelters housing over 12,000 displaced people annually.
Critical Systems: These units power central heating boilers, kitchen facilities for mass feeding, and medical equipment for elderly and disabled residents.
Psychological Safety: Beyond the physics of heat, consistent electricity provides light and connectivity—vital for maintaining morale and dignity in a crisis.
Partners in Warmth This initiative was a direct collaboration between corporate resources (Diamondback Energy) and humanitarian logistics (Bird of Light Ukraine). We proved that with the right assets, we can keep the lights on in the darkest months.
