Bilopillia, Sumy: 300 Kits for the Eastern Fortress

Pillar: Relief & Community Recovery | Mission Volume: 300 Units | Context: Logistics Under Fire

Running the Gauntlet On October 27, 2025, a volunteer convoy successfully navigated the "road of death" to deliver 300 food boxes to the residents of Bilopillia, Sumy region.

This delivery was not standard logistics; it was a tactical operation. The road from Sumy to Bilopillia runs along the contact line and is heavily patrolled by Russian FPV drones. Just 24 hours prior, on October 26, a civilian food truck on this very route was targeted and hit by a Russian drone, injuring the driver.

To ensure these 300 families received aid, our partners had to utilize vehicles equipped with Electronic Warfare (EW) jammers to suppress enemy drone signals during the approach.

The 1,000-Year Fortress Bilopillia is more than a frontline town; it is a symbol of Ukrainian resilience. A historic fortress standing for nearly 1,000 years, it was also the childhood home of Kazimir Malevich.

Today, it sits just 5-7 kilometers from the Russian border and the active combat zone of the Kursk operation. Despite forced evacuation orders and daily shelling, many residents—including those supporting the military and preserving local infrastructure—refuse to leave. As Natalia Kalinichenko, a local deputy, stated: "Attention to them is attention to the border and the protection that we are all holding here together."

For the families remaining in this fortress, the local economy has collapsed.

  • Volume: We delivered over 3.9 metric tons of high-density supplies.

  • Necessity: With water supply frequently cut by shelling and logistics disrupted, these boxes (containing grains, canned meat, sugar, and coffee) are often the only reliable food source available.

This mission was funded by The World Orphan Fund and Diamondback Energy, but the physical risk was borne by our ground partners. We extend our deepest gratitude to the "Common Power of Ukraine" and the BRO Veteran Movement, who provided the security and logistics to drive into the fire and ensure that Bilopillia remains standing.
