Dry Taps: Delivering 45,000 Liters to Apostolove
Pillar: Relief & Community | Volume: 45,000 Liters (9,000 Jugs) | Partners: Diamondback Energy, World Orphan Fund, VPO Ukraine
In Apostolove, the infrastructure has collapsed. When residents turn on their taps, usually nothing happens. If they are "lucky," they get a stream of undrinkable mud.
This water crisis, a direct result of the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant and proximity to the frontlines (just 60km away), has left thousands of locals and displaced families without the most basic necessity for survival.
To combat this, we executed a massive delivery of 45,000 liters of drinking water.
Crucially, we didn't just bring bulk tankers. We delivered this water in 5L jugs.
Why 5L? In a town with no running water, portability is key. These jugs are small enough to be carried by hand by the elderly or children, but large enough to sustain a family for drinking and cooking.
This operation was made possible by:
Funding & Support: Made possible by Diamondback Energy and The World Orphan Fund.
Ground Coordination: Executed with the support of the VPO of Ukraine, ensuring the jugs reached the specific neighborhoods where the need was most acute.
When aggression turns a glass of clean water into a luxury, logistics becomes a form of resistance. We are ensuring that families in Apostolove have one less battle to fight today.
